This year the PacNOG meeting will include a general meeting on Sunday evening (June 18th), a day of conference and tutorials and two concurrent workshop tracks:

Accommodations

Conference rates are available for participants at the Hotel Kitano. Shuttle service will be provided to the main venue each day.

Objectives

  • To provide a venue for service providers in the Pacific Network community to meet and discuss current issues as well as receive technical training.
  • To build relationships among individual and institutional contacts in the Pacific region. A key outcome of the workshop will be the building of relationships with peers/colleagues in the region and among the instructors.
  • Attendees may present their current country network situations as well as discuss this among the group.

  • Training and discussion topics include:
    • Open Source Systems training.
    • Network and systems security.
    • ccTLD operations and management best practices.
    • Good design practices for scalable solutions.
    • Network monitoring.
    • Best practices for routing design.
    • Routing (eBGP and introduction to iBGP).
    • Multihoming.
